New Holland Genesis SmartTrax

by in Blog on 14 January, 2016 with 0 Comments

The New Holland T8 SmartTrax is reinventing the concept of high-horsepower farming, offering the longest wheelbase in its class, and exceptional maneuverability with unsurpassed versatility.

Available in numerous track spacing options and belt widths the T8 SmartTrax also provides reduced compaction, increased efficiency, better traction and enhanced stability, and with the SideWinder™ II armrest, the T8 SmartTrax sets the benchmark in ergonomic tractor operation.

Fitted with a Tier-4B-compliant Cursor 9 engine the T8 SmartTrax delivers enormous power and ultimate economy, thanks to multi-patented ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR technology, developed by FPT Industrial.

"SmartTrax-equipped T8 Series tractors have been developed to deliver the proven versatility of a wheeled tractor with the enhanced traction and flotation of rubber tracks," says Don Forrester, New Holland High Horsepower Product Manager. "The rubber tracks are matched to large diameter front wheels to deliver excellent maneuverability and to overcome some of the issues that may arise with conventional twin tracked vehicles. A key feature of SmartTrax is the ability to turn tightly and cleanly at the headland. Versatility is the key, making these tractors also suitable for work such as spraying and top dressing."

Optimised flotation and traction with minimised soil disturbance
Designed by New Holland specifically for high power applications, the GENESIS SmartTrax is offered on the top two models in the T8 range, the T8.435 and T8.410.  Minimal soil disturbance is due to a larger contact patch with the soil, enhancing traction and reducing ground pressure and compaction.

The contact patch of the 24-inch SmartTrax system is up to 65% greater than a 710/75R42 single rear tire set. The 18-inch SmartTrax system is 35% larger than a set of 480/95R50 rear duals. The reduced ground pressure allows earlier access to drying land and can provide extended working time in the season with a reduced risk of damage to the structure of the soil.

The GENESIS T8 SmartTrax benefits from wheeled tractor agility. Topsoil disturbance in a tight headland turn is minimized, with the rear tracks following the path of the front tires without forming a "berm" ridge. The combination of wheeled front axle and rear tracks enables a New Holland GENESIS T8 SmartTrax tractor to operate at full power in turns around wet field areas or on the headlands. This full power turn capability is a key advantage over twin tracks, which shut down power in one track to make the turn, when full power can get you through the tough working conditions.

Purpose-developed high clearance, high torque front and rear axles
Purpose-developed axles have the high strength build required to transfer high power and torque to the ground as well as carry heavy loads. The front axle is designed to transfer full power to large diameter wheels while still allowing a 55º turn angle. This ensures a GENESIS T8 SmartTrax can turn tightly for optimum productivity.

Up to seven different working widths

Offering the choice of undercarriage, New Holland GENESIS T8 SmartTrax tractors can be specified to offer a choice of working widths, with track spacing choices of between 1930 to 3960mm (76 and 152 inches). The track belt width can also be matched to suit specific needs:  Narrow undercarriage models will come standard with 460mm (18 inch) tracks. For use in more extreme conditions, to include steep difficult terrain or extremely wet conditions, wide undercarriage models are offered with 24inch (610mm) tracks.

Auto CommandTM CVT transmission
The proven New Holland Auto CommandTM continuously variable transmission is standard on both the T8.435 & T8.410.  A key advantage of SmartTrax is that the GENESIS T8 models are based upon well-proven platforms that will be familiar to New Holland operators.

Trevor's Trip to Chicago

by in Blog on 20 October, 2014 with 0 Comments

(New Holland recently conducted a study tour(September 2014) for the main leading dealerships in Australia, Codemo Machinery was rated as one of the leader in NSW for the guidance system, this was largely due to the sales service & support of Andrew Gulloni who is the dedicated guidance person at Codemo Machinery.

As Andrew was to be a Dad again he was not able to attend the study tour and Trevor Allen the Finance Manager was nominated to take his place. The study Tour started  in Chicago and representatives of the New Holland dealerships travelled the Iowa area of America visiting Dealerships, the factory when the tractors are produced and the enormous modern world wide parts distribution centre .

The benefits to the Australian Dealers was to see and talk 1st hand with the New Holland people, American dealers and Farmer to understand how the do things over there and what problems they face.

We found that we appear to be all in the same boat in many areas including the rapidly growing Guidance area which is destined to grow more significantly than people can imagine . New Holland has a whole dedicated team who design , test and implement new guidance systems on a major basis. Same old story when they come out with new products there is always glitches that need to be resolved but they have a highly skilled team that can act quickly to sort out any problems this is in support of their assist team for clients, Australia has its own team here as we often face different types of issues .

The future of Guidance is now here to stay, it will be like buying a new car it will be guidance equipped ready to go to work it will no longer be an after purchase part of the tractor to be fitted prior to delivery.

The tour was over eight very packed days and a credit to the organisers of the study tour, should any client wish to tour the tractor factor we would be happy to help make arrangements as it well worth the time to see what is produced and how.

Personally I would like to thank Codemo Machinery for sending me on the study tour and this has confirmed to me where the future will be with guidance and what direction we need to pursue to ensure we are guidance leaders in this area with the product and support to look after our clients with the best that is out there.)
